Foreigners can obtain a student residence permit in Egypt if a family member is enrolled in an educational institution in Egypt. The rest of the family members can also benefit from obtaining residence in Egypt at the same time.
To obtain the student residence permit, a nomination letter from the educational institution is required. Then, you need to go to the Immigration Department in Egypt to get a temporary Egyptian student residence permit for two months to complete the student’s registration procedures. After that, the residence permit is renewed for one year for each renewal.
The issuance of nomination letters in Egypt was suspended in June 2024 for an indefinite period. Recently, the issuance of nomination letters for students in all Egyptian schools has resumed, allowing foreigners to obtain student residence permits in Egypt.
